Cask at the Wharf. A clear copper colored beer with some off-white bubbles on top. Dark dried fruits, some toffee and pine cones in the aroma, as well as a hint of fruit caramel. It’s quite dry on the palate, but feeling lightly sweetish. Toffee, dark dried fruits and a decent bitterness. Pine cones too. Alcohol hints. Very soft carbonation. Lasting finish with a nice balance. Pretty nice this one. 150301

Cask at JDW Putney. Reddy brown, still, pretty clear, scummy head, thick lacing. Aroma is non-descript. Body is medium, low carbonation, pretty smooth mouthfeel. Taste is tangy and rummy, big rounded toffee malt character - almost pungent, a little dry and ashy, gluey, resiny. A malt bomb of a beer, just right for the season.

Cask at The Duke of Cambridge, Cambridge. Tawny, clear and flat. Very little head. Aroma of rich caramel, musty sealing wax and fig rolls. Taste is sweet, fruity and boozy.unexciting flat palette. A mixed bag, glad enough to only have a half.

Cask at Victoria Station Spoons. It pours clear deep amber with a bubbly beige head. The nose is rich, earth, dried fruits, toffee, wood, vinous quality, brown sugar and honeyed fruits. The taste is smooth, woody, toffee, leather, alcohol warmth, sultana, fruit cake and leather with a dry finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Nice balance. Turns out GK can knock out a decent beer when they want to!
