2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 28, 2011
Tasted this in Tennents Bar, Glasgow in October 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Dry dusty hop flowers in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt base gives a weak digestive base with tart redcurrant fruit which is quite short. Dry hop resins give a tart metallic tang in the long aftertaste. Astringent hop resins present in the dusty dry finish. An ok autumnal ale but better examples are out there.

10th November 2008. Clear deep gold beer. Low carbonation. Competant but dull beer. Light malt, very mild hops. Just a trace of banana. One of those all too typical annoying English palates that manages to be dry and watery at the same time!
