Poor attempt to transfer bottle to cask. The spicyness is not pleasant in the palate.

Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in November 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Slight hint of berry fruit in the malty aroma. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts give a robust digestive biscuit malt with tart redcurrant fruit present. Slight metallic tang gives a short bitter aftertaste of hop flowers and spices. Bitter sweet balance in the short finish with golden syrup evident. An ok bitter but does lack in body.

From cask at The Society Room. Pours clear and golden deep orange to amber with a small white head. Aroma is mild peachy fruity. Crisp hoppy, peachy and mild citrusy. Vague sweet impression, otherwise dry and crisp hoppy fruity. Bitter and lingering fruity into the finish.

Cask handpull at Muggletons JDW Maidstone. Deep copper colour clear thin beige head. It has some caramel toffee up tront and then the house yeast kicks in on the finish. Some dryness on finish. Ok if unremarkable toffeeish bitter.

Cask Conditioned Handpump Last Plantaganet Leicester. A dark copper coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. Itís got Greene King yeasty notes and a dishwatery signature but there is some citrus note in the nose and late on in the mouth. Pretty ordinary though.

Cask, The Felix Holt, Nuneaton. Copper with a dense nitro smother. First impressions; soapy, floral, positive- way more orangey hop than Iím used to from GK; clean and balanced tang with vanilla and honeyed oak. Barrel-licking, if thatís your thing; but at last with a tang of hop to balance the smoothness. Milky drapes, silky still. Unbelievably, even some muted, soft-focus orange and rose on the snout. Best cask GK beer Iíve had- might almost consider drinking a pint of it.
