A perfectly balanced ale, characterised by its fresh hoppy taste and a clean bitter finish. The Official Beer of England Rugby, Greene King IPA is now the fastest selling cask ale in the UK.

This has low marks, not sure why. I enjoyed the toffee, caramel and roasted flavors. I thought it was smooth and easy to drink if a bit watery.

Catch up rating. On tap at the Bird in Hand, Mildenhall. Nice draft IPA, but hard to get used to the British styles served cold. Typical IPA notes, though not as hoppy as their American cousins.

Clear brown with a medium sized off white head. Kind of low on flavor, dark bread, wood, light herbal, caramel. Light/medium body, oily/watery texture, light sweet and bitter. Very inoffensive but not very interesting.

Pours light brown/amber with a thick, creamy white head. Aroma of not much, some English hops. Taste is grassy and floral hops, medium bitterness. Itís bland and boring.

Cask during London vacation. Amber with coarse white head. Aroma of malt, perfume, grass and hay. Taste has malt, dark caramel, grass, perfume and faint bitterness. Meh.

One of the worst beers Iíve ever put in my mouth. An indescribable taste of stale bitterness and watery ale. Never again.

On cask at aye Olde Talbot Inn Worcester. On the whole a very disappointing IPA. Lacking the hoppiness I would have expected.

Deeply pleasant, tasty and easy drinking. Nothing exceptional exept its agreeableness overall. My favourite on an English Summerís evening at the Free Press in Cambridge. Doesnít upset gut bacteria too much when only counting up to three.

Cask at the Woolpack Inn, Whitley, September 2013. Clear gold with white head. Dryish dusty aroma, mildly bitter, mediocre and watery. Light body, short finish.

hand-pulled pint at The George Inn in Southwark area of London. Aroma: basement malts; some apple-like spice. Appearance: medium-copper with creamy off-white head. Taste: musty malts, some sweet apple flavors. MAYBE a hint of fuggle hops. Palate: excellent full-bodied mouth-feel, crisp and dry. Creamy. Not going to do much for those used to American IPAís punchy hoppiness, but it has character all its own.

Heron havant. Amber small white head. Somewhat malty aroma. Tastes like a cheap lager with a bit more malt.
