(draught - longest pub in London) Amber with small head. Mild hops and malt aroma. Body flattish as expected from a cask beer. Flavor only mildly hoppy. Nice session beer.

Tried drought at Stage Door, near Victoria station, London. Amber color, small foamy whitish head, doughy aroma, slightly hops taste, low carbonation, medium finish. Typical IPA.

Rating the export version, I dug out my notes for this version. Amber with a small but lightly creamy white head. Floral and fruity, light earthiness, biscuity malt, quite thin bodied.

As much an IPA as flying air. Pale amber, no discernable nose or taste. Absolutely awful. Carling anybody ?

On handpump. Thin creamy white head. Amber pour. They should really remove the name ipa. It’s a bitter. Thornbridge ipa is tge real deal.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2012 Cask. Rich rusty brown. Cream lasting head. Smells metallic and coppery with a hint of shredded wheat and sugar puffs. Nice smooth mouthfeel, very malty in the mouth. Not what I expected from an IPA. There’s a touch of bitter but not enough. Tastes too coppery to really enjoy. --- Having a second go at this. Not quite as coppery as I remember, so the last must have been a bad pour. Still not hoppy enough and very "wheatabixy". Adjusted my rating a little.

Buttery, weak and timid approach to the style. Watery finish, color of dark apple juice. Even a bit of apple flavor, tart with a light body.

Sainsburys, Maypole. 500ml bottle. Perfectly serviceable session ale. Nice taste but lacking the pizzazz available from craft beers. However,at a pound a bottle on promotion, it is a bargain.

Deeply unimpressed with this. Lacks flavour or character of any kind, barely resembles what most would look for in an IPA

Cask @ The Beehive, Cheltenham. Tart golden brown, crisp. tight foam head. Alt-malt aroma, darker fruit. Full cider body. Pear and red apple, quince, round fruit, some spices.
