1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Clyx (208) - SWEDEN - SEP 5, 2011
Skunk, skunk, skunk. Man this is not good. It’s even worse than some macro lagers, well, now I know.

Bad beer. Someone I know told me to get this one he was wrong it is out of balance with Carmel sweetness and not enough alcohol.

from Au Grain d’Orge, Neuchâtel - translucide reddish-amber beer with a chaotic little foam left; chewy malty nose with notes of caramel; medium-bodied and with a solid yet subtle carbonation; quite dry and with a decent bitterness; notes of caramel and flowers - not even close to an IPA but not bad at all
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 pushkinwow (871) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 3, 2011
500ml bottle. Was difficult going from IPAs and DIPAs in Cali to this but o well - gota try things anyways. Light amber with very little head - what is there is off-white/tan. Wet barley and malts, caramel, watery and a bit skunky. Sorta sweet, no bitterness really at all, does not taste great and the finish has an off taste. Not good.
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 Holy (701) - GERMANY - AUG 1, 2011
Bottle at a club Mildenhall - this one was not one of my favorite IPAs - left the glass half full for another beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 fidelis83 (1354) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - JUL 17, 2011
Pours a clear, slightly dark amber with a 1 finger, dirty-tan head. Aroma is is grass, herbal and slightly skunky hops, toffee, earth and apple skins. Flavor is caramel, toffee, and herbal notes up front with some apple skins popping through later along with damp woody notes and some skunky/grassy hops toward the finish. Palate is light, but full bodied, with a kind of creamy entry, drying out to a pleasantly crisp middle and dry, slightly chalky finish, Medium carbonation. I found some obvious flaws with this beer, but I enjoyed it a little more than my description indicates. Definitely not a modern American IPA, by any means.
2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 jandd1983 (938) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JUL 15, 2011
It poured a clear orange color with a small off-white head. The aroma was of faint caramel malts. The taste was fruity with a caramel and very light hop backing.

500ml bottle. Hope I picked the right GK IPA, but this was the only one at 5% so I’m pretty sure. Anyways, poured with a small head. Taste was very low bitterness for something claiming to be an IPA, I see by the classification on this site I’m not wrong in this perception. Flavour was decently malty, but I was disappointed expecting an IPA.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kristall-König (1642) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - JUL 7, 2011
Im Geruch caramellig und bitter. Antrunk würzig-bitter. Zur Mitte hin verstärkt Caramell. Würzig-bitter im Abgang und etwas trocken nachhallend. Eher enttäuschendes IPA, zu wenig aromatisch für meinen Geschmack. Trinkbar aber allemal.Test vom 30.8.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Grima (1573) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JUL 7, 2011
copper colored with hardly no foaming. Aroma of bitter hops, slightly sweet-spicy, typical of an ESB. Starts very spicy and dominant malty, with decent bitterness in the background. The center part is slightly nutty. The finish is malty, caramel, again with decent hop bitterness in the background. Solid Bitter Ale without ups and downs!
