Doggythedog (1541), Split, Croatia Oct 18, 2009 Bottle from Geoffrey’s of London, Antibes, shared with heavy Poured a slightly darker copper colour, off white/beige head that went away slowly. Buttery sweetish malty nose Sweetish butery/fishy taste, notes of lemon, dry. Light earthiness, scant bitterness. Eeh, not impressed. gam (1068), brisbane, Australia Oct 16, 2009 Medium head, clear slightly dark amber coloured pour, aroma grassy hoppy light fruit lemon, flavour fruit citrus grapefruit mild bitter little grassy, pepper touch, good session ale, finish hops flavours good nice mild bitter. heavy (815), Split, Croatia Oct 15, 2009 09/10 0.5 l bottle from the English store in Antibes. It poured copper body with medium sized, slightly off white head. Weak, orange aroma, hoppy. Flavor was orange bitter as well, fine, but simple, with nothing else there except maybe hint of biscuit malt. Also, pretty thin bodied with shorter citrus finish. Was refreshing, but nothing special and easily forgettable. delnoche (214), Germany Oct 13, 2009 50cl bottle poured into a pint glass. Clear amber brown with one finger diminishing tan head. Aroma is subtle, slight hops, hints of caramel, maybe maple syrup. Hoppy flavor with smoky undertones. High carbonation. Medium bitter finish. mcdav2154 (295), Germany Oct 3, 2009 Not a fan of this. Clear amber color and cream head looked great but the smell was horrid. Too sweet like an imatation sugar mixed with this sweaty sock stench. Taste was almost just as bad but not quite a drain pour. I did finish it and moved on to a better quality BSA. Bejaaamin (110), London, Ontario, Canada Sep 25, 2009 clear ruby red/orange, pale head that ran fast. almost forgot the smell of english hops; earthy, clay, grassy, eucalyptus, mold, barnyard. taste doesnt follw through with the nose, very dissapointing, not horrible though. sound67 (159), Offenbach, Germany Sep 5, 2009 Updated: Sep 13, 2009Bottle. Creamy head that soon disappeared. Faint rye bread aroma. Distinctly but not overpoweringly hoppy taste with medium-bitter finish. Not "metallic" at all. Americans! What’s your problem with this clean, straightforward IPA? All of your own beers I ever tried taste like pee (Anheuser Busch, Miller’s, you name ’em). Greene King IPA is good beer! sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 22, 2009 Tasted 7/22/09. 500ml bottle. Filtered with an amber hue. Trace ring of bone white head. Caramel soggy bread aromas. Mild and subtle esters. Medium bodied with a solid malty character. The bitterness from the hops are faint and meld well with the malt dominant beer. The bitterness also adds a nice drying sensation in the finish. Smooth and easy, yet nothing special.
