Dead shining bronze. Cooked old hop, tea, caramel, almost orange peel, rusty nail and butterscotch aroma. Not bad, actually. Beyond the nose, Badger-like yeasty doughiness, soggy biscuit, tea, gentle nuttiness, MARZIPAN. Offputting alcohol/almond notes of a beer several percent stronger. Clinging dunked Rich Tea afters. Bitterness of the shampoo variety. Not revolting, but getting there.

Bottle. Poured clear orange with a small creamy off-white head. Sweet faint aroma of caramel malts. The flavor is fruity with a caramel and very light hop backing. Medium body that is sweet upfront and bitter in the back. Dry. Needs lots more hops!

Sweet smell of malt and hops. Amber with no head , doesn’t look very appealing. Flavour of malt coming through has a bitter aftertaste a bit flat. Maybe I had a bad botle?

500ml bottle. Bought this expecting an IPA, for some reason... What I got was a malty somewhat sweet beer with almost no hops. I found the taste to be unpleasant and ended up giving it away. No hops in the aroma, just malt. This beer annoys me. At least it kinda looks like an IPA.

500 ml bottle from the LCBO. in a clear bottle but showed no signs of oxidization. pours bright orange with a mid off white head. quite english malt aromas. no hops = not a IPA. flavours are nice english malt pale ale without hops. would be a nice session bitter. another fake IPA from the LCBO.

Bottle from the LCBO. Nice dark copper colour with a medium sized slightly off-white head. Nice caramel and toffee notes in the aroma, with some mild citric hops. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, quite suitable for the style. Pleasant and balanced flavour that gives what the aroma promises. IPA or ESB? I don’t care, it’s just a good beer.

500ml bottle, 5% a/v Clear bottle, not good. Pours a deep reddy brown (I think I had a crayon this colour when I was a kid that was called Roan), nice off white head. The aroma is a bit malty and a medium amount of citrus and hoppy bitterness. The flavour is a bit malty but has a very nice backing of hops. It has a slightly watery mouthfeel but the aftertaste of hops more then makes up for it. This beer is very unapologetic, and it is what it is. As such, I enjoyed what it is.
