Pours a deep red/orange with a good creamy head. The aroma is slightly floral but a little skunky (blast clear bottles). The flavour is pretty good with a strong malty base line, with some light hoppy citrus, and a little something I can’t pin. Its a little watery for me, and the finish is thin. But all and all, it’s not bad, I’d probabyl buy this again.

500ml bottle from the LCBO. Very slight malty aroma, some slight hops, nothing really special, smellls a tad bland. Flavour is a bit wattery, there are some nice hops in there, a touch of caramel malt, i agree with the distinction putting this under the bitter category, i find it a bit too weak on hops to be an IPA, the beer i just rated before this one, the ruddles county ale is an ESB, and its hoppier.

500 ml bottle - pours a foxy reddish brown with a small off-white head. Aroma sweet and caramelly. Flavours of earthy hops, brown sugar, molasses, and a slight metallic edge. Pleasant medium-bitter finish. Creamy and full in the mouth. Good all-around drink.

Alright so I have a bit of a bone to pick with you Yanks. I love you guys, but seriously? If it looks like an IPA, smells hoppy like an IPA, and tastes bitter like an IPA, well then, oddly enough, it’s probably an IPA. It is brewed to be an IPA by the Brits, don’t forget it’s a BRITISH STYLE OF BEER AND YOUR OWN INTERPRETATION OF IT IS NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT COUNTS. Great malt backbone, creamy mouthfeel, nice assertive bitterness from BRITISH hops, and the typical beautiful amber-ruby-copper IPA colour. I really like this beer. A milder IPA, but probably closer to what the original ones were like.

Thanks to Bill for the bottle. Thin head, nice copper color, smells a bit off. Mildly hoppy and smooth with a pleasant creamy mouthfeel. Not too complex but solid in its own way.

Last beer (bottle) that I had in Scotland, after living in Edinburgh for three years (since the airport confiscated a different IPA). Export strength, good for the colonialist, Raj and staff... good enough for the modern drinker. Nothing shy about this solid IPA.

Bottle from John’s Market in Portland, Oregon--Poured a copper-amber body with a creamy white well-retained head. Sweet, biscuit bitter hoppy nose. Grassy, gritty, caramel cream notes. Good mouthfeel. This beer starts off well and quite English, then gets tired after a half a pint or so. Kind of boring.
