2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: MAY 15, 2014 Nice clear amber with off-white big frothy head. Not that ipaish aroma has lots woody malt, caramel, earthy. Nice malty flavor but can’t say I think it is ipa, more bitterish, medium body, quite soft, medium long malty finish. Well this is just barely ok. Not good as ipa.

Clear golden with a good sized off white head, identified by some table spillage.

Taste comprises grain, apple skins, GK yeast strain, dull caramel.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry grassy notes and lite bitterings in the closure, a touch watery.

How in the name of jaysus can you call this an IPA? They would have sent this back. Almost very nearly got poured down the drain because it is sold as an "IPA". Call it a bitter and you’re closer. A below average bitter at that.

Bottle. Light amber, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, some toffee and light bread, light hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, some toffee and light metal. Finish is short to average, malty and lightly sweetish with light caramel and toffee, some metal and faint hoppyness. Watery "IPA" with notes of metal.

Glass in Gatwick airport. Very little aroma if any. Nice dark copper look with a creamy head. Looked good. Beer was flat and bland. No taste to mention. Creamy texture. Really not an ipa. Crap

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Small off-white head over totally clear orange-copper beer. Caramel, biscuit, crystal malt.... eeeeuuhh... hops? What about those green things? Faintly salty hint. Taste is much less sweet than the nose suggested, but still mainly toasted, and above all, watery and rather spritzy to fizzy. Warming up, some (again faint, of course) liquorice. Feels overcarbonated. Very, very light, bit slick. Disappointing. And I’m being polite. What about bottling some 5X for a change? And, please in REAL beer bottles. Brown glass, that is.

1.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
As noted below, pours with a creamy artificial-looking head, yet way under-carbonated, which only accentuates the limp, thin mouthfeel. Aroma is what I’d call typical English bitter, yet taste is completely devoid of bitterness. One of the most boring and over-priced beers I’ve had.
