Not bad for one of the most generic real ales going. The sort of one you see going in a franchise pub or a huge mock Tudor pub off a slip road as a "hey look, we sell real ale now TAKE IT" option while children scrike and run around the place and the polite but thick waitress tells you the chef’s gone off even though it’s not yet 2pm. All I can currently think of it is a template of an IPA, which isn’t a bad thing. No, the reason Greene King IPA is a bad thing is that they close down smaller breweries. Also, I kept this in a can once for over a year before resorting to it, and the result was a completely ridiculously festy expired brew, which I used to scare my mates with before pouring down the sink.

500ml bottle into glass. Pours with zero head, a few bubbles. Slight malt nose. Looks like a glass of cold tea. Spritzy in the mouth. Finishes with a stange sherbet bitterness, fizzy and metallic. Reminiscent of NZ ’IPA’ Tui. Not a pleasant experience.

Puszka 0,5 l. W aromacie lekka trawka i karmel. Piana biała, dość obfita, drobne pęcherzyki. Barwa miedziana, piwo jest klarowne. Niska goryczka, średnie wysycenie, ciało cienkie.

Wersja puszka. Piwo klarowne, barwy miedzianej, biała piana doskonała. Aromaty trawiaste, tytoniowe, nuta chmieli i karmelowość. Wysoka pijalność przez przyjemną goryczkę i niskie nasycenie.

Piana słaba, po ponownym nalaniu ładniejsza, słabo trzyma, nie osiada na szlke. Zapachu brak. Ładna bursztynowa barwa, nisko nasycone. Lekka goryczka.

Can. Copper body, medium to small head. Aroma has modest English hops. Watery mouthfeel with medium hoppiness.... for a Bitter! This is absolutely not an IPA and if you are bright enough you would not have expected it to be one. However, its flavour is mediocre even for a Bitter. Watery and forgettable finish.
