COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Greene King IPA Gold is a light, refreshing golden ale that truly brings out the best in the unique and aromatic Savinsjki Goldings hop variety. The craftsmanship in this beer lies in the late hopping which creates a perfect blend of tropical fruits, mango and spicy notes and delivers a beer with a clean bitter taste and a crisp dry finish.

Pours golden with thin head that quickly disappears. Looks flat and low carbonated but is actually rather aggressively fizzy. Aroma is a murky hoppiness - nothing very distinct. Some fruit but it smells artificial. Taste is better, though initially there was some weird industrial tastes - paint and petrochemicals - only a whiff though. Now it’s just inoffensive beer. Too fizzy - is making me burp.

Bottle, poured a bright gold, not like an IPA though. Aroma was pretty miserable, like a bad lager. Taste was better though, a little hoppier and a little more flavor than I expected.

Bottle. Bland gold. Honey, fruit, hint of hops in the nose. Smooth and sweet, very drinkable. Mildly sugary. Little hop bite. Certainly a light IPA, but simply drinkable stuff.

SarkyNorthener (655) - Walsall (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 6, 2013
Bottle. Golden beer with a medium head that quickly resigns itself to just a mere ring around the edge of the glass. Aroma of mango and citrus fruits. The taste as a touch of mango as well, citrus fruits and a bit of yeast. Quite carbonated. Easy to drink, not as good as the cask version. An average bottled golden ale.

This was a whole English pound. What else can you buy for that? I’m not going to list things, you’re all intelligent people. It was pleasant, refreshing and good for lunchtime supping whilst I cooked and danced to Aretha.
