2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Chiswick (137) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 15, 2012
very clear liquid, dark amber colour, slightly watery appearance. pours no head, only random weak foam as a lacing around the edges. the aromascape is very weak and mainly focused on the hoppy grassy citrus side with some creamy caramel notes. the taste is sweet sour, with a gentle bitterness complementing this. a nice combination not found that often. This is however very weak and light, and is quickly ruined by the palate with its overly spiky carbonation and watery body. the taste quickly loses its initial effect and turns dull. leaves a nice oily texture in the mouth, but this does not contribute to the experience much other than that. a mediocre beer in many aspects, having a sense of direction but lost with what to do with it.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 AshtonMcCobb (777) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 8, 2012
Bottle @ the Bladnoch Inn. Pours amber with a decent head. The nose has grapes, apples and toffee. The taste is more apples and toffee. The palate is medium bodied, quite creamy in texture with a clean-ish finish. Overall, better than in cask, I think. Worth having another, so I did.

3.6% amber colour with a thin head, hop aroma, a nice light hop taste and very easy to drink.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 will1 (98) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2011
On first impressions this is more an ordinary bitter than an IPA - not particularly strong nor pale. Aromas malt and caramel. Bitter in flavour thin in body. Nothing spectacular in aroma or taste and the greene king label has better to offer.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cunningham (1748) - Halden, NORWAY - NOV 10, 2011
bottle - Clear and golden orange with a small off-white head - a very fruity and hoppy aroma - unforunately a very light flavour, absolutely hoppy, but expected more - mild british ipa

Light brown colour. Soft, smooth, easy drinking texture. A full flavoured beer with a nice floral hop aftertaste.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 ComradeK (466) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - OCT 1, 2011
500ml bottle. I should preface this rating by saying that I do have a bit of a history with this beer. I tried the cask version in London a few years ago, when, being young and foolish I had not yet come to appreciate English ales. At the time, I didn’t think much of it, as my rating will attest. Thus, I was interested upon spotting a bottle to retry it, with the benefit of slightly more age and beer appreciation. Now, on to the point. It pours a clear reddish amber, with a tiny, wispy head, which fades almost instantly, and thus does not look too excellent. Toffee and biscuit notes compete with wet cardboard on the nose, without any real hop aroma present. Mild, slightly stale hops lead into a more pleasant slightly burnt toffee flavour in the body. Wet cardboard returns as the dominant note in the finish. So, the conclusion then is that this is indeed a poor beer, although slightly better than I recall. What has changed in my outlook is that this is a poor bitter, rather than a poor beer because it is a bitter.
