3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at Great British Beer Festival. Rusty deep ale with a nice bubbly white top. Honey and orange marmalade style nose. Tastes nice and smooth with the same marmalade notes but not quite hoppy enough for my personal tastes. Finishes sweet.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Brown, slight amber glow, thin white head; taste is sweetish juicy malt and citrus fruit; still not that many hops for an IPA; itís hard not to be prejudiced against this having had to endure a thousand handpumps for the awful basic product over the years; whatever, itís a million miles better than itís much-disparaged cousin; a nice full body, especially; pretty decent, in fairness.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Impressive reddy amber hue. Very smooth to drink. Had the right flavour for an IPA but much more subtle and citrussy than some similar beers but packs a punch at 5.4%

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A mid amber brown coloured beer with a thick white head. A light, sweet butterscotch aroma with a hint of malt. Medium-dry mouthfeel. A dry malty taste, bittersweet caramel and toffee. There is hint of sour fruit in the background that does balance out the sweetness. The finish is a tad cloying.
Tasted at the Ely Hotel, Blackwater, Hampshire.

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Medium amber in colour, head variable as in all cask ales. Fairly thin for its gravity and no aroma whatever. Quite easy drinking for a strong-ish bitter but not especially distinguished.
