Some hop aroma. White head. Amber coloured smooth on the palate and a little hoppy with a crisp creamy and slightly dry malt finish
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 imdownthepub (7494) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2008
Keg at The Red Lion, Adderbury. Cloudy amber, nitro fizzed head. Tinny, metallic with boiled over steeped tea taste. As bad as it gets.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 SilkTork (4738) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - SEP 15, 2006
Poacher’s Pocket, Chatham. A synthetic tasting beer. Not smooth at all, but fairly harsh and tinny. Stale and nasty. While I can understand people drink lager because it is cold and bland, I fail to understand why people want to drink beer which tastes like tin and cardboard. Strange. Perhaps the nitro had run low?
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 KyotoLefty (3762) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 19, 2010
Cask at Ye Olde Cock Inn, Didsbury. Dark amber with orange, low, fine head. Fruity aroma. Flavor of fruit and hops, blander than Abbott ale, though. Ok malt, but weaker than Abbott. Decent balance, good hopping. Smooth, medium light body. Not quite IPA strength malt or hops--even in the British sense of IPA. Disappointing, but nice enough.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 berkshirejohn (3020) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 1, 2007
Keg at the Golden Farmer, Bracknell. Gold with a creamy off-white head; despite the typical nitrokeg smooth and cold style, some hops actually come through; finish is slightly bitter and dry.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Nekronos (2655) - Xalapa, MEXICO - SEP 13, 2006
A little better than the one on Cask, it is a little creamy, and ht eoclour is somewhat dar. The foam is nice, and veyr malty. IT says it hs malted barley, I do not know why they say that.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 lusikka (2533) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 27, 2010
Tap @ Olutravintola Malja. Rated @ 11.6.2010.
Amber colour with a creamy head which collapses quickly. Little lacy. Aroma of citrus, fruits and mild malts. However, the flavour is not good as it’s buttery with skunkiness. Light bodied with watery mouthfeel. Not good.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Gethinbeer (1565) - Musky, Nova Scotia, CANADA - AUG 13, 2007
Draught in the Ferry, Symonds Yat. This was much better than the cask IPA. Great appearance, creamy head. Keeps it body till the end. Smooth flavour, slight honey hints. Hoppy. Goes down extremely well. Good sesh beer. Had about 8 of these so cant be bad.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Nickls (1346) - SE DC, Washington DC, USA - OCT 8, 2010
Tap. Generous slightly off-white really creamy head, burnt orange hue. Really nothing to report on in terms of the aroma, vague touch of hoppiness that edges towards citrus, malty sweetness for the most part. Flavor very much mirrors the taste, and can’t get much blander than this for the style. Very creamy MF and subtle carbonation. Bit of work to get through a pint. Bleh.
