Greene King Strong Suffolk (Olde Suffolk)

Dark brown with a little beige head that completely leaves. Smell is of some dark fruitiness and malt. Very light smell. Taste is actually great with some malty sweetness with notes of plums and raisins with a minimal hop bite at the end. Kind of a syrup thick mouthfeel but not as much as a doppelbock would be. Very good old ale.

very dark brown, head doesn’t stay long. beautiful color. robust flavor. slightly spicy but not too much. full bodied, oaky.

Sad to see this Vintage brew now living its dayz in a clear glass bottle. But cool that it does not screw the flavas and vibes too much. Theakston Old uesta be my favourite beer 7 years ago when I tried a dark beer other than Guinness or Murphys.
A nice beige rocky head above ruby ...Big and stocky beer in character . A complex drink. But shit its meant to be a vintage ale , (at least they claim it still is)
so it should be damn complex. Ok i’m getting chocolate covered raisins covered in earth. A chewey red winey texture iz full on ,often found in English Porters. There is a burnt toffee flavour -that’s almost slimey and sickly coz this beer is sticky ,then leading the drinkers taste buds to spicy,woody hop bitterness and a late showing of customary(for the Old style) banana esters .
A grimey , interesting dark ale. The aroma is subdued , otherwise thumbs up.

Beer tasting at wine world. Took a taste, not my style. Tad to sweet for my taste....next?

50cl bottle from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark cola brown with reddish highlights and one finger off-white to tan foamy head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, right dark fruit, light notes of booze, hints of toffee and roast. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, toffee, vanilla, maple syrup, some hints of ripe dark fruit and light roast. Generally medium body with a pleasing malty finish.

. Pours dark brown/red with small dimished head. Sweet malt aroma with dark plums, and wood. Good balance and mouthfeel with pronounced dark fruit flavors and a nice balance of wood. Ends slightly bitter.

Bottle, 50cl. Pours a burgundy beer with an offwhite/beige head. The aroma is caramel. The flavor is caramel, vanilla and estery. The palate is sweet. Overall a good beer.

Aroma of roasted caramel, toffee and biscuit. Appearance is dark red with creamy head. Flavor was similar to the nose, and pretty malty. Palate was creamy. One of the better English brews I’ve had.
