Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Marketed in the United States as Olde Suffolk.
A blend of two ales: Old 5X , which is brewed to the maximum strength possible (around 12% abv) and left to mature in 100-barrel oak vats for a minimum of two years, and BPA, a dark, full-bodied freshly brewed beer which is added just before bottling. The result is a unique beer - strong (6% abv), dark, fruity, oaky and very, very special.

500 ml bottle. Dark ruby brown, thin tan head. Sweet aroma of dark fruits and spices. Roasted malts, raisins, apple and spices in the flavour. Balanced and enjoyable.

Medium dark brown color with aroma of malt and dark fruit. The taste was not as sweet as you’d might expect after smelling it. Malty with basic grape likr flavors with a little cardboard thrown in for good measure. Light tartness in the finish.

Pour was amber brown with minimal head. Aroma was of fruit, light hops, and sweetness. Flavor had a light but very well blended sourness that mixed with the dark fruit creating a very smooth aged brew. Quite good. Would buy again.
