| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2007 500ml Bottle: Dark brown pour with ruby red edges, initially great off-white head with excellent retention, but it disappeared fast. Aroma of oak, cherries, plums, alcohol, anise, oranges, and malt. The alcohol is very prevalent, seems much higher than the advertised 6%. Sweetness off the start from fruits and malts, noticeable woody, oaken qualities taken from the aging. Some hops in the back but not a lot, it’s more a hint. Medium body and mouthfeel. Good. beerledgend (919), Meadowbank Auckland, New Zealand

I found the mouthfeel to be a bit fizzy and bitter. A bit too much for my taste. I don’t think I’ll revisit this one. Dedollewaitor (3709), Odense, Denmark
