Dec 3, 2005 Dark cherry-red brown, rich aromas of sour mash, oak, brown sugar and toffee. Scotchy and winey, sour cherries, walnuts, bitter chocolate and rich roasted malt. Fantastic, complex, and worth the money.

Dec 2, 2005 500ml bottle from Morrisons. Deep ruby in colour with thin beige head. Slightly sour with some liquorice. Some nice malt fruit, some brown sugar. Some sourness towards end and some hop. Not bad

Nov 22, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Vintage 1996. Very dark brown, almost black, with only the tiniest head. Very full-bodied with a vinous character and a vague metallic edge. Very characterful beer, lots of personality here. 290800

Nov 21, 2005 Very clean, fruity ale, no alcohol burn to speak of, very nice drinking this one is,pretty balanced for my liking. Will have again for sure. Woody, fruity, smooth.

Nov 12, 2005 Bottle. Maple syrup and cherry aroma. Opaque black-brown color with slight head. Light sweet maple flavor with a strong hops finish. Don’t know why any English beer had a maple flavor - maybe it’s just me. Still not too bad - sweetness light and not cloying.

Nov 10, 2005 Decently large beige head over dark brown (there could be purple here... or maybe not :)
). Nose is VERY sweet w/ rasins. The taste is equally sweet, all malts, that equal up to honey and more dark fruits. Theres even a little alcohol here. Good, just too sweet for me.

Nov 5, 2005 Rather dark red amber coloured beer with a medium disappearing head. Light sour fruity aroma. The taste is surprisingly fresh with a bitter fruitiness. The finish is light bitter.
