Aroma is grainy malt, apple, caramel, straw, a little toffee, a hint of walnut, sweet earth, maybe some wood notes. Flavor is grainy malt, caramel, earth, wood, dried leaves, dates, dark fruit, sweet nuts and lots of herbal notes. Finish is herbal, woody, and slightly bitter with lots of wood notes. Body is thin with a creamy feel up front and a slick but dry finish. Really a nice beer with lots of quality but not enough body to really carry it. poolboy (66), Lafayette, Indiana, USA

Pours a reddish brown with a small beige head. Nose is suprising. Complex and nutty with hints of hazelnut and fruit. Taste is similar to the Belhaven Wee Heavy but not as heavy. Cherry, tons and tons of caramel, some chocolate and a little tartness maybe from the cherries. This is really quite great. kempicus (350), Wellington, New Zealand
