Commercial Description:
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Marketed in the United States as Olde Suffolk.
A blend of two ales: Old 5X , which is brewed to the maximum strength possible (around 12% abv) and left to mature in 100-barrel oak vats for a minimum of two years, and BPA, a dark, full-bodied freshly brewed beer which is added just before bottling. The result is a unique beer - strong (6% abv), dark, fruity, oaky and very, very special.

A dark amber almost brown beer with a fine head. The aroma is sweet and fruity wiht hints of honey. The flavor is strong, sweet and spicy wiht hints of honey and the alcohol content. It is a very filling beer ending wiht a nice dryness.

(Bottle 50 cl) Vintage 1996. Very dark brown, almost black, with only the tiniest head. Very full-bodied with a vinous character and a vague metallic edge. Very characterful beer, lots of personality here. 290800
