Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
A blend of two ales: Old 5X , which is brewed to the maximum strength possible (around 12% abv) and left to mature in 100-barrel oak vats for a minimum of two years, and BPA, a dark, full-bodied freshly brewed beer which is added just before bottling. The result is a unique beer - strong (6% abv), dark, fruity, oaky and very, very special. In the United States, this is known as Olde Suffolk.

2000 bottle 0.5L. Pours a reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is warm with pronounced notes of oaky vanilla and butter together with some dried fruits. Flavour is sweet and a bit tart with some bitterness. Notes of oaky butter, dried fruit and a hint of alcohol. Tasty (a 0.33L bottle would have been enough though).

Pours a dark amber with a nice off white head. Aroma has an oakish note with caramel malt and fruit. Flavor is a oakish character and malty with a nice warming finish.

Medium dark brown color with aroma of malt and dark fruit. The taste was not as sweet as you’d might expect after smelling it. Malty with basic grape likr flavors with a little cardboard thrown in for good measure. Light tartness in the finish.
