COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle: Filtered
A 6% abv dark ale is created using a traditional brewing method of making two beers of different character and strength, which are then blended together. The beer takes its name from the racing term ’Springer’, a racehorse whose odds dramatically shorten before the race.

una birra di greene king di tradizione che si fa rispettare per il suo gusto accattivante pur non essendo per niente invasiva.

Bottle. Pours a deep red-brown with no head at all (once the initial bubbles calmed). Nose is caramel, plum and malty sweetness. In the mouth, lots of lovely flavour - plums, cherries, roasty malts, breads, a slight alcohol, vanilla, slight banana. Leaves it mark on the palate in the form of sweet malts and light bitters. Quite surprised and really enjoyed this.

Clear 500ml bottle, original review lost on BA site. Lovely amber colour, clear body, with a full head of foam. Can’t remember a great amount else about the beer or my review, no aroma of note . I do however remember I was quiet impressed overall, I promise to buy and re-review if I see this beer again.

Bottle from Morrisons. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Raisin, chocolate and dark fruit aroma. Nuts, malts and chocolate dominate the taste. Malty-sweet finish. Quite nice.

Rosy notes to a chestnut body, beige head that subsides in quick time. Smells medicinal, of elder and hawthorn. There’s also berry fruit and caramel to be smelt. The flavour brings that all together with milk chocolate and sorbet. Tastier than it smells by a long chalk. Sweet and fruity, I could see myself having another pint (if there was another to be had). The finish is lingering and sweet.

Nutty brown colour. Toffee and dark fruits on the nose. Chewy and a little bit sticky with more toffee and dark fruits. Would make a nice cask ale.
