bobinlondon (485), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 17, 2008 Handpulled cask at Southern Cross Watford. Gold with bubbly white head. Citrussy hop aroma. Well balanced to start with good malty sweetness and balancing citrus hops. However, the beer soon became less interesting and flavours resembling hop extracts from my old home brewing days began to creep in. I finished the pint quite unsatisfied, as is often the case with GK beers.
Magicdave6 (4153), London, Greater London, England Oct 15, 2008 Bottle at beer exposed. A clear bottle from green king. Can i please just go on a rant here about the fact that The Cad Fuckin Knows and so do you chaps about the fact that a clear glass green king bottle is going to be like teabagging a bloody hedgehog on a hangover! MesandSim (4723), Highgate, Greater London, England Oct 6, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at Beer Exposed.
Golden brown and struggling to hold onto a head. Typical bland GK offering that is desperately crying out for some proper hoppage. Lifeless and bland. Inoffensive and drinkable mut soooooo dull. Doppelganger (1260), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Sep 4, 2008 Cask, Turf Tavern, Oxford. Copper, fine white head. Mineral, orange and old man aroma. Flavor just the same. A bit too sweet. Not bad, just very much middle of the road. DruncanVeasey (1913), No. 46, Leicestershire, England Aug 31, 2008 Cask at The Sad Hog Tavern. Orange amber with a dense white collar. Wet soggy straw, white bread, some leafy hop, lime and blackcurrant aroma. Not much happening beyond that. Dab of marzipan, slick caramel smoothness, no hops. Tired and soggy, but surprisingly ok. johndoughty (1727), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Orange with medium carbonation.Flowery and fruity with the distinctive Greene King lingering aftertaste.Pleasant and definitely one of their best.
