COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For the brewery's one year anniversary, we have chosen to celebrate with this Barley Wine. Barley Wines are mahogany coloured, heavy and malty beers with a high fruitiness. They are vinous and suitable as a cheese- or dessert beer or as a goodnight drink. Originally an English beer type from the 18th Century.

Comments: Lean-bodied barleywine tasting rather corny and syrupy at the same time, obviously boosted with sugars and finishing quite chalky, rough.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Clear, copper body and beige head. Quite nice aroma, sweet, dried fruits and some spicy notes. The flavor is sweet and lighlty spiced. Full body and a long, sweet finish. A bit neutral in the nose and mouth, not the typical barley wine in my opinion, it’s too sugary sweet for that. (070512)

A Mes rate: Draught @ Københavnske Øldage. Amber colour with a slight dusky haze. Looks lovely. Very sweet aroma of brown sugar and treacley biscuits. Something very Belgian waffle about it and I thought it was pretty damn good. Sadly in the mouth it’s not anything like as good. Most of the same stuf but it’s just a little harsh and unrefined. Alcohol is quite clear and does it no favours at all. Bittering finish adds some welcome respite from all the sweet stuff.

Tap. Pours a reddish amber without a head. Aroma is sweet with a fruity edge. Flavour is too alcoholic and sweet with little to balance it. But it will certainly heat up an Arctic explorer!
