A clear dark brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a sweet caramel with dark fruits and molasses, fruity esters, a bit of licorice. In mouth, a sweet malt with dark fruits, bock like, nutty notes, coffee, not bad. On tap at Bierkraft, Dec. 27 2011.

Unlabeled bottle cork and caged that may have had some bugs in for good sport. Pours amber mahogany dark crimson with a tan head. The aroma and flavor are similar, light sour wild notes. The body is a bit light and after the sour flavor the beer drops off unfortunately.

Draft. Mahogany body with a scant lacing and very poor head retention. Very malty and fruity body up front. Dark fruit tones, plummy, black raisins, rummy and toffee notes. A healthy dose of caramel sweetness with a medium warmth. Pretty good.

The aroma is caramel, brown sugar, fruit, decent. The appearance is a slightly hazy reddish brown. The flavor is like the aroma, malt forward. Medium in body. The finish is sweet, boozy, light pine hops. Decent.

Deep coke-like reddish brown, with a one-finger head. Very malty aroma, extremely smooth, rich maltiness, but with a surprisingly dry finish. Hop bitterness present but very little hop flavor. the alcohol is tangible but not overpowering, and it is an excellent, cold-weather ale. Very (very) easy to drink. An excellent , delicious dark ale.
