COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A black ale that puts the flavor of the malt front and center. It has a mild hop character that balances strong notes of cocoa and hints of coffee. A full-bodied treat that pairs well with chocolate as well as fresh shellfish.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2012 1) Draught, The Pony Bar, Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. Carbonised raspberry aroma with hints of peat. Mahogany under a tan swirl. Dark choc with cranberry bits finishing dry with dabs of quinine hop, more burnt stemmy raspberry, burnt toast. Good, and surprisingly easy to throw back by the pint. 2) Pint@The Highliner on 10th, 17/12/11. Very cold, slender and charred. Burnt paper, bunsened pencil notes, smear of choc. Some coal and vegetation on nose. Decent, schwarz-like. Good late evening/ hangover/jet lag beer. Trace of smoke. 636313.

My Bottom Line :
This chocolate-y Porter’s easygoing mouthfeel also showcases delicate roastiness and raisin-y fruitiness.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the brown-hued darkness.
-The mouthfeel is creamy but not thick.
-This is quite drinkable throughout and never boring.
-The flavor profile is on the sweet side, but in a delicious way.

On tap at Rattle’n’Hum.

Very delicious porter. some nice coffee notes, roasted malts, and cocoa. A little heavy for the summer, but definitely one to have when it gets cooler. On tap at the brewery during a tasting session

Tap at Friendman’s Lunch @ Chelsea Market. Brown with a small tan head. Nose is fairly roasty, light tartness, cocoa. Flavor is fairly straightforward porter, roast, coffee, lightly tart finish.

Draft. Deep black color. Frothy head which fades. Slightly smokey and oakey. Very easy drinking. Good example of a light porter

toast, chocolate, thin feel, light body, flat, I had this beer at the brewery with the creater/brewer of the beer. loved the fact that the brewing co. is next to an old jail. I liked the beer and bought a growler to take home. It’s a great beer, bur i wished it had more of a finish to it.

A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a nice nutty chocolate with mineral notes. In mouth, a smooth chocolate with herbal notes, fruity notes, quite decent. On tap at Fette Sau, Dec. 30 2011.

Had at tap room 307 with Brendan, James and Andy. Labeled "with cascade". Was very light and watery. Some roasted malt flavor but nothing else added to the taste. Possibly had to do with the cascade. Would bot recommend.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2011 Flight @ On Tap w the bros. Black pour with whispy brown head and little lacing. Aroma of light chocolate and hops. Palate is balanced and chocolatey with a light mouthfeel. Long, bitter finish. Kind of plain but well done. Re-taste 12.28.11: full pint in a shaker @ Tap Room 307. All of the above still stands, but watery palate and lack of body stand out a lot with the bigger pour. Not great.
