Growler from BigZ. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet corny malt. Flavor of sweet, grainy malt with very little hop flavor. I wasn’t able to find any info on this beer, even from the brewery website. Based on its name, it sounds like an IPA but it doesn’t really taste like one. It is most reminiscent of an oktoberfest actually. Not really a fan either... 6/4/6/3/11 [3.0/5]

A - Pours a very clear orange-amber color with a finger of fizzy white head. The head quickly fades away and leaves only minimal lacing behind. S - Smells mostly of a sweet malt and some earthy/leafy hops. There is also a bit of a biscuity undertone and spices mixed in as well. T - Starts off with some sweet toffee malt flavor with some piney hops mixed in. Through the middle the a bit of spice and just a touch of honey flavor come through. The finish is fairly bitter with a touch of sweetness. The balance is not quite perfect here and tastes a bit off. M - Medium-light to medium bodied with fairly moderate carbonation. Feels a touch watery. Finish is a bit dry and feels very smooth and crisp. D - Very drinkable. The flavors are just a bit off, but the beer as a whole feels very smooth and crisp. Even with a bit of a balance problem, there is a nice blend of hops and sweetness from the malt to kick the beer off, just wish it stayed throughout.

Growler filled at Bellport Cold Beer & Soda and consumed later the same day. Pours a clear gold with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left partial lace. The aroma is malt with some light biscuit and earthy/leafy hops. I wonder what hops variety they used on this beer, since the aromatics on this IPA are neither floral nor citrus/pine. An interesting choice. The flavor pretty much follows the aroma with the same malt and light biscuit followed by a solid dose of earthy/leafy hops. Moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. I’ve really enjoyed the beers that are coming out of Greenport, and I appreciate finally having a brewer that is local to the North Fork. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t do much for me.

32oz growler from my favorite guys at Big Z Beverage. Pours a crystal clear orange, amber with a thin, eggshell head. Nose of wet malts, crackers, biscuit dough, some light citrus, some earthy leaf notes. Flavor is sweet, crackers, malty, light honey, some very light orange, some light pine. Medium bodied, slightly watery finish. This was fine, sessionable, but far from memorable.
