My first beer from Greenport Harbor! Dark ruby color, small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate and hops. Medium-bodied. Caramel and alcohol in the flavor with woody maltyness. Clean showcase of Scotch Ale.

Draft. Pours a bruin body with a tan head. Malty with dark fruit tone and raisin like notes. A mild roastiness, nutty and chewy with a hint of wood and fig. Hint of chocolate and mild earth tones. A Little warmth, not bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft from R&H. Poured brown. More of a brown ale than a scotch ale to my taste.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
64oz growler pours translucent, cola brown with a ring of white head. Aroma of cola, bread, chocolate, nuts, raisins. Flavor has chocolate, nuts, malts, not as peaty as other scotch ales, raisins, dark fruits. Not overly sweet. Finish is medium bodied.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Growler courtesy of nimbleprop. Pours a clear amber with a thin, yellow head. No retention- leaves a thin, protective layer. Aroma of raisins, stale cherry juicy juice, flat cola. Taste is syrupy sweet, cherry juice, caramel malt, big raisins. Almost cloying sweetness. Meh- it seems impossible for anyone to make Scotch ale at any level close to AS Wee Heavy.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Growler. Clear chestnut brown, small beige head, medium lacing. Aroma of light cocoa, caramel syrup. Taste is heavy on the butterscotch. Not bad, considering itís been in the growler for a few weeks.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cola, raisin nose. Taste is lightly sweet, lots of toffee and dark fruit, itís a bit overbearing, especially combined with the light roast. Just far too heavyhanded with the specialty malts.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is peat, smoke, earth. The appearance is a deep red/brown, of-white head. The flavor is a lot like the aroma, with chocolate and caramel. The finish is sweet, and light piney hops. Medium/thick body. Good example of the style.
