1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 SuperDave (1933) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - MAR 31, 2008
Started out promising with a nice copper color pour with a solid white head. All downhill from there. Aroma was fruity, but weak. Flavor is worse. Too watery. Not a repeater.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 tnkw01 (402) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 20, 2008
Bottle. Not a very good beer. I have to say Red Bridge is a better beer in this category. Smelled kind of weak. Taste was sour with the taste of millet coming through all the grains. It’s worth one try.
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 McGarnigle (455) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 15, 2008
This doesn’t look bad: hazy walnut with a very long-lasting head out of it (the product of an over-fizzed beer). The taste is terrible, sort of sour cidery, healthy grains or something. Just inhaling it is painful. Long and bad after taste. Would have been better if it actually had crustaceans, celery and mustard.
1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 eboats (1069) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAR 15, 2008
Bottled. Oh this is a discovery all right. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a good one. It was more like I rediscovered their other beers, and the taste of crappy cider. Poured dark amber with a white head. Not too bad of a start, but down hill we go. Aroma is cidery with buttery white wine. Flavor is very light nothingness with some hints of a buttery white wine. Thin body with too much carbonation for this brew.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 PorterPounder (4114) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - FEB 29, 2008
Tallahassee, Fl. - Liquor Loft - 500 ml bottle. Dark copper, slightly cloudy pour with a thick, sticky off-white head. Aroma is slightly funky with some fresh water aquarium notes, a hint of tinniness. Brief caramel in the flavor with some toffee and a lot of wet metal. Mouthfeel is plastic-like and leaves an awful film in your mouth. Will take a while to get the taste out of my mouth of this one. Passed this one by plenty of times due to the $6.49 price tag, but I had accumulated enough points to get $5.00 worth of free beer....still not worth the $1.49. Whatever is in gluten is something that is definitely needed in beer. Avoid this one if possible. I feel sorry for beer drinkers who are allergic to gluten.
1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 Suttree (3926) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 17, 2008
These Gluten-free beers tend to fall into one of two categories - completely bland and tasteless, or unspeakably vile. This one was solidly in the latter.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Palidor19 (2385) - Brandon, Florida, USA - JAN 31, 2008
too thin, not malty enough, the of baking soda, metal and grassy. hardly any hops. This barely worth your time.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 nick76 (3591) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 31, 2008
The aroma is like ketchup and fries with metal and body like elements. The appearance is hazy amber with a small but nice head. The flavor is like the aroma and reminds me of muffin diving! The palate is thin. Overall I would have to say pick another alternative malt beer if you have to drink one.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 presario (4137) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 30, 2008
BB4 03/07/09. Very fizzy as it pours from the bottle. Giant soda pop-like thin spidery head. Dirty dark brown beer. Slightly sour, fruity Belgian aroma. Thin and unpleasant start. If you stick with it it is drinkable. More of a bad can of pot taste than beer. Bit of raspberry flavour. Burnt sour caramel finish mixed with baking soda.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 bhensonb (7592) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 31, 2007
Bottle. Aroma is lightly sour, a bit vinous. Near mahogany in color with a vigorous white head that didn’t persist. Thin to medium body with fizzy carbonation. Flavor is sort of berry, sort of sourish, sort of fruity. It is really dry. The bitter seems to be like chewing berry seeds. Seems balanced. Quite a different drink, but I’d appreciate it on a desert island.
