heemer77 (3667), Savannah, Missouri, USA Nov 8, 2007 Loose bubbled light tan head. The body is dark brown with a dark, rich orange tint when held to light. The aroma is some cinnamon and cherry cough syrup. The taste has some nasty notes of burnt almonds and marischino cherries. Really sweet with little to balance that out. There is also a hint of cinnamon spice in the aftertaste. Too much carbonation.
robforbes (729), Bremerton, Washington, USA Sep 1, 2008 pours a dark brown with a ruby tint, large bubbly tan head, some lacing.
smell is strange, hard to put my finger on, grapes, dark fruit, touch of vanilla, malt, some licorice, and some caramel.
taste is very sour and tart, sour grape, fruits and berries, some cocoa, licorice, malt, slightly bitter. Ibrew2or3 (1705), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2008 Updated: Aug 26, 2008Courtesy of Degarth. Pours deep clear garnet with thin mocha head. The aroma is pungent with bold dark fruity esters, some chemical alcohol notes, licorice and musty dewy fruitiness. The taste is as bold and sweet as the aroma with dark sugar coated fruitiness then becoming somewhat like red wine and tannin dryness. I also get a sugar porridge type sensation that’s mild and muted. Body seems really thin considering the level of sweetness in this beer. Sick_boy282 (1074), San Diego, California, USA Aug 14, 2008 Pours a deep brown hue with a nice slight tan head. Aromas of cola, rum, and some weird rice funk. Mouth feel is very light bodied. Flavors of rice milk......mmmmm... very light bodied for the style, more flavors of noting much else. A light sweetness, a mellow finish with more flavors of coke.
The bottle says 7%abv. fishingnet (805), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber brown with a huge large bubbled light tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of cola, alcohol, and dark fruit. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and warm slightly hot alcohol. Decent. Suttree (2289), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 8, 2008 Absolutely Vile. It looks OK, I guess, brownish red with a huge, foamy tan head. Smells and taste sour, but not a good sour, really kind of vinegary. Why are so many of these gluten-free beers seeminlgy formulated specifically to highlight their weaknesses? Complete drain pour.
