Strange one this: brewed by De Proefbrouwerij in Belgium and like all Green’s beers is brewed without gluten. The 330ml brown bottle, best before 3rd Jan 2011, drank and reviewed 23rd July 2010. Poured into a Veltins stemmed Pilsner glass (twice). The beer was a pale yellow with a lemon hue and a very slight haze. The pure white head never really grew up to much, but it leave some lacing. The smell was the normal nothingness most lagers/pilsners give off, hints of not much to be honest. The taste was very dry, one of the driest pilsners I’ve had. The nasty metallic flavours some beers in this style have appeared towards the end of the mouthfeel. Not overly impressed.

(bottled) I like legit pils and this isnt like one . Its not the most soulfull of beers ive had this week : Conclustion : it looks nice and has a subtle bready maltiness = for some reason the biere de garde, Trois Monts comes to mind, but if 3Monts was not actually an excellent beer . There is some woody bitterness , with a crispy lemon note. Eazy to sink .

Pours golden and clear with a frothy head. Bready/grainy aroma. Flavor is on the sweet side, little bitterness. Hint of citrus and earthy hops. Soft carbonation and light bodied. Thin and runs down easily. Decent pils

DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 21, 2010
Clean gold with a tall scummy head. Tell-tale dab of Belgian pepper and sherbet on the snout; honey, metal and shrubby hop beneath. Full and slippery with a not-unpleasant honeyed fresh bread character; rubs of pine and sherbet, orange peel almost.. Hints of bite leaning towards proper pils. Superior crap pilsy lager: the first enjoyable gluten-free beer I’ve ever had, and one of the best Belgian pilseners. Sticks around with some genuine breadiness. Decent.
