This is a good beer, not just for gluten free, but in terms of all belgian style beers. Not quite an authentic Blonde, it is cloudy with distinct soft belgian hops indicative of Green’s style beers.

A bit of apple and a very astringent aroma. The flavor is almost paint-like. This is not that good.

Tasted this at the bar. Hazy straw yellow color. Lots of green apple and fruit skins in the nose and flavor. Not too crazy about this. Very cidery and slightly astringent.

Fruity sour aroma. Clear dark golden color with a large white head. Sweet with a tart bitterness. Light fruit yeast flavor and a light palate.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2011 Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Tulip. Appearance: Mostly clear but slightly dulled yellow with surprisingly substantial foamy head and lots of lacing. Aroma: Sweet, grainy and adjuncty with some Belgian yeast characteristics of clove and banana. Taste: Similar to the aroma, it is too sweet and grainy. That said, it has some nice layers of fleshy fruit, banana and clove. Ends with a titch of spicy hops (Styrian?) Palate: Moderately high carbonation, medium body. Not as dry as a great Tripel, but many American-made Tripels that are not gluten-free are still like this. Overall: Not bad for gluten-free, but people with gluten issues ultimately would be better served by drinking wine, hard alcohol, cider, etc.

Tasted on 8/11/11 from a 500mL bottle purchased at Binny’s South Loop, best before 20/10//14. Pours clear, bright, auburn tinted orange with a thick pink hued head. The nose is fruity and lightly tart with some candi sugar sweetness, apple juice, and a light malty aroma that is very unique. The flavor is the same lightly tart, apple juice, candi sugar and brown sugar sweetness, and the same very unique malt flavor that I got on the nose. The body is medium and somewhat oily with lively, stinging carbonation, and a long lightly tart and unique malt finish.

500mL bottle pours pale golden into goblet with white head fading little to no lacing. Body on the thin side. Aromas of fruit, yeast and alcohol. Tastes much the same. Alcohol at end may hide some of the off tastes I had of Discovery and Endeavour, but still not an enjoyable experience.
