Pouring at Get Real NY. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Lightly hoppy toast and sweetness. Candy malt, a touch of popcorn. Clean and sweet, light with a bit of green apple. Sweet toast and honeycrisp apple.

16.9 oz. bottle- Pours golden with little head and a candy sweet aroma. THe flavor is pretty good, they hide the alcohol very well, this is the best gluten free beer i’ve had.

500 ml bottle. Aroma is medicinal, tart. Pours hazy yellow with a medium head which dissipates just a bit, leaving a layer of foam on top of the beer. Taste is sour. Nice aftertaste. High carbonation. Much better than the Endeavour.

I have no medical reason to drink a gluten-free beer, but what the heck, let’s try one anyway. GLASS: Tripel Karmeliet Goblet TEMP: Cellared at approx. 50 degrees This beer looks nice in a glass. It has the color of golden honey. It should be noted that it looks just slightly darker than expected for a Tripel. It pours with a nice thick head that, unfortunately, dissipates all too quickly. It gives off a nice citrus and yeast smell that leads me back to positive anticipation. The taste is not quite what was expected from a Tripel, but it is very close. It tastes predominately of peaches and nectarines. It has a slight taste of honeyed apples on the back end of it. In between lays an unknown tanginess and something that almost tastes too sweet for this glass. It does feel good in the mouth, as a good beer should. There is nothing to make you think that you’re missing some ingredient. I would say, as someone who is not concerned about gluten content, that this would be a good beer to enjoy every now and then (like once or twice a year). Just to be used as something to throw into the mix to break up the regular routine. If you are someone who must maintain a gluten-free diet, you would be hard pressed to find a beer with better flavor than this, at this point in time, anyway. In the realm of Tripels, this is in the middle of the pack. I’ve definitely had better, but i’ve certainly had worse.

Enjoyed from a 16.9oz bottle in a whiskey snifter. The beer pours the characteristic deep yellow to medium amber, with a slightly smaller-than-average white head. Some sour notes come through in the nose, as do some cidery notes. Finally, some malt-like character comes through, which is curious, since there wasn’t any malt used. The palate is full in terms of both complexity and mouthfeel. Again, there is a rather prevalent note of acidity, which I found to compliment the other tenets of the style, namely esters and some sweetness. A slight spice from the hops evidences itself in the mid-palate to finish. Overall, an interesting concoction, and a pleasing "beer."

Bottle. Best GF beer I’ve tried. Most GF brews are Bud Light-ish, but this one definitely resembles and tastes like a Tripel. Nice to see some Belgian GF brews hitting the market.

Pours a three finger cream head that fades very slowly, leaving some lace. Nearly clear pale golden amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Sweet apple nose. Flavor is sweet apple and cider. Does not taste like a triple. Higher ABV is hidden. Best by Sep 13, 2009. $5.99 for a 500ml bottle from Manchester Wine and Liquors Manchester, CT.

Bottle poured at Get Real NY 2011. Pale hazy golden pour. The aroma is quite spicy. A little bit of light cidery sorghum aroma along with some tart apple fruitiness. Apricot and peach and a fairly lean bodied brew. Zippy with notes of white pepper and some honeyed fruit as well. Clove and spice with a light alcoholic bite. A bit of orange and more spiciness on the finish.

(.5l bottle at home with weeAnaP on September 15, 2008) Pours a semi-cloudy amber-orange color with barely noticeable carbonation (which you can really only notice as it reaches the surface). Quest has the same fermented aroma as Greens Endeavor, but noticeably more sweet and, well, Tripel. Its aroma has a strength that, in a way, reminds me of saki - I am assuming that is the rice. It hits your mouth with a hard and pungent and sweet punch. Its flavor is like saki as well, but a little more tame. It is very nice on the palate. Something very pleasant follows up my nose... a very enjoyable drink. Different, but delicious. I wanted more, and from reading the other ratings it looks as if I am alone here. I am surprised its average score is only 2.09. I admit, it is not for the traditional beer drinker. Well... this is what happens when you take barley and gluten out of the mix. Does not mean it is not enjoyable.
