Slight hop aroma. Nice malty flavor. Good hop aftertaste. Easily their best of the non-seasonal beers.

found this in my dads wine cooler. must be at least 5 years old and it did not hold up very well. similar to a farmhouse in aroma and flavor. finish’s sweet with a twist of skunk

Wow, I just found out that Greenshields has been closed, and are reopening soon in the Triangle, NC. I found this in bottles at Peace St. Market, Raleigh. This one is dark straw with some hopcit and floral esters. The taste is less hoppy than many IPAs, but the malt is solid, and it is fairly well balanced.

I’m assuming I got a bad one - this was a serious drain pour. Usually Greenshields stuff is good - I’ll have to go back and re-rate once I’ve tried it again.

A decent IPA that isn't over the top. Has a kind of grassy finish, but still very drinkable.

im confused. this is a good IPA, but it has too much malt and too much of a malty smell. replace the malts with a strong hop presence and you could get a better than average ipa. all that aside, golden pour, standard ipa looking beer. this is better than highland IPA for NC brewed beers.. not bad.

A cloudy caramel color, with a fairly good bite. It leaves an odd aftertaste to me that I don't prefer, perhaps it's malt, but it's difficult to discern. It's not a beer I'd pick out of a crowd of IPAs. Quite drinkable, but I would order another IPA if it were at the bar and I had the choice. A uninspiring beer, but not bad. The head isn't spectacular, but it has a nice hops smell. An average IPA.

Brownish amber, small coarse head, light hop aroma. Balanced on the hops side, with a good bite. Malt character comes through better after it warms a bit. Not a bad IPA, drinkable enough but not outstanding.

Light pine, orange, pear nose. Good sized head with fair lacing. Amber, copper hazy appearance. Nice hop flavor - nothing overpowering. Light citrus flavors; mildly acidic with a dry fizzy texture. Solid IPA. Thanks to Trappist for the hook-up.

When I ate dinner at Greenshields pub I ordered the beer sample tray to. This was one of the beers featured on the tray. It is a light golden color and has a very rich and smooth flavor. It is an ale that could be served with any dish and would compliment it well.
