Cask Handpump at the Black Horse, Darwen 24/09/2004 Dark coloured and slightly rich on the palate with an earthy aroma. Sour fruit flavour. Some dryness in a lasting malt finish.

Deep rich strong porter with just a hint of licquorice. A good head when pulled correctly though a good sparkler. Available at Castle Hotel Bradford and Blue Boar at Thornton

Deep mahogany colour. Slightly sweaty aroma, with vegetal and malty notes. Slightly woody, malty flavour. I’d categorise this as an old ale, rather than a porter,but it’s not that exciting. Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans beer Festival.
