From a plastic barrel at the Great British Beer Festival, Day 4 on 6 August 2010. Pale silver colour. Musky aroma. Not much fruit. Low tannin. Prominent acidity. Extremely acidic in fact. Despite being categorised as medium sweet this seemed relatively dry to me. Perhaps the acidity and lack of fruit made it appear drier than it actually was. Quite hard work and I didn’t find it very pleasant drinking. Greggs Pit usually make pretty good stuff so perhaps this is a variety that doesn’t lend itself particularly well to single varietal treatment.
