Plastic barrel at GBBF 2010. Very pale gold colour. Cheesy perry aroma. Oh that’s not good. Just a bit too acid full on perry. Gorgonzola type flavour. Quite distinctive.

From cask. Pours clear and pale yellow with a fully gone head. Aroma is acidic and phenolic perry. Acidic and dry perry flavoured. Mild acidic and dry finish.

From a plastic barrel at the Great British Beer Festival, Day 4 on 6 August 2010. Pale silver colour. Musky aroma. Not much fruit. Low tannin. Prominent acidity. Extremely acidic in fact. Despite being categorised as medium sweet this seemed relatively dry to me. Perhaps the acidity and lack of fruit made it appear drier than it actually was. Quite hard work and I didn’t find it very pleasant drinking. Greggs Pit usually make pretty good stuff so perhaps this is a variety that doesn’t lend itself particularly well to single varietal treatment.
