500ml brown bottle, taken at The Cask Pub and Kitchen, London in Oct 2011. Liked the look of this beer, good amber almost copper in colour, clear and clean: the off-white head full and lasting (I poured it vigorously myself). The smell was of light flowery hops and malty molasses, each mild and yet powerful, those aromas stayed throughout the pint. More malts than hops in the taste, not the sweeter malts, bread and biscuit compared to caramel and toffee flavours which were there, but as a secondary feel. The hops held it together nicely coming towards the end of the mouthfeel to give a semi-bitter finish. Would take this over almost any Pilsner/Lager/Helles I know.

Comes in a handsome bottle. Darker in appearance than most fests I’ve seen. Light, bucolic nose. Dry mouthfeel with light malts apparent on the tongue. Not very complex, made for easy drinking. OK, but nothing to write home about.

(Rating #3821)

Bottled at GBBF 2011. Clear amber, small off-white head. Bready and bisquity, slightly yeasty, with floral and grassy hops. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Fairly dry with mild lingering bitterness.

Bottle at GBBF 2011. Golden/copper color, small head. Malty aroma, caramel, brown sugar, bready, fruity notes. Malty flavor, a bit roasted, caramel, sweetish but also with a nice hop balance.

My Bottom Line :
Lightly herbal hops move into earthy bitterness in this doughy, full-bodied festbier.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam drops into the krug.
-Malts once again lay out soft sugars but no polished flavors.
-Herbal hops could be brighter, especially in the aroma.
-Drinkability is reduced by the full body.

On tap at Annafest.

Hopfig und fruchtig im Geruch. Süßlicher Antrunk. Mitte hopfenaromatisch, leicht malzig. Herber im Abschluß. Etwas arm an co2, dafür sehr süffig und bekömmlich. Geschmacklich auch in Ordnung. Gut. Test vom 28.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer with an off-white head. Caramel-malty nose with a nice balancing fruityness and some slightly peppery hops. Malty, bready flavor with fruity hops, medium body, quite dry. Good bitterness towards the end, where also som bready flavors blend in. A quite decent beer. 090822

Botella. Clear deep golden colour. Sweet caramel malty grainy aroma. Sweet grainy, malty caramel flavour with a light bitterness.
