Draught at Pig’s Ear BF. Very soft, rather sweet, hardly a hint of hops at all. Boring.

Comments: Yikes! Another severely underrated pils. Dry german style, accomplished by obvious master’s hands. Floral, well-bodied(surprisingly malty in fact), firmly bitter. Flawless and begging you to keep on drinking better than your friends at 3am.

Draught@GBBF2007. Golden colour, white head. Aroma is hay, grass and some hints of mild citrus. Flavour is really hoppy along with hay and sliught grains. Wellbalanced and pleasant pils.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2008 Bottled. Served from a stein, so no comments on the color and clarity, but it has a fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet with a light dusty hop note. The flavor is very sweet and very early a flowery hoppy note appears, that turns into a bitter finish. Very refreshing.

Draught at GBBF 2007. Gold, lasting white head. Some cereal and nice hop on aroma. Some lemon. Clean in mouth. Excellent pils, drinkable and beautiful and I would have drunk this all day. My German beer of the festival.

MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAR 15, 2007
(bottle) Classical Pilsener appearance with a persistent foamy blond head. Slightly sweet pale malty, slightly skunked (barnyard) nose with light-spicy, herbal hops. Bitter flavour, herbal taste on a robust malty, minimal-grainy base; dry-ish, bitter hoppy with detectable sweet malt in the aftertaste. Clean and solid Pilsener.

A Mes rate. 50cl bottle from Quinns. Malty German pilsner that I found reasonably enjoyable. Something of a shock to me because I usually hate stuff like this. Creamy hop nose. Darkish pils appearance with a fairly impressive head. Decent palate for what it is. Grainy and hoppy with some slight tangyness to it.

rauchbier (3395) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2007
Tap, at GBBF 2005. Gold, moderate white head and good condition. Slight lemony banana notes followed by hop and grain in the nose, solid graininess in the mouth full bodied and malt and with a honeyed flowery hoppiness that lingers long in the finish.
