Served in krug at brewery. Looks to be dark gold/copper. Head doesn’t last all that long. Pretty high carbonation. Malty but not sweet, ever so slight bit of roast and an abrupt finish. Slightly metallic. Superbly quaffable, fresh, and tasty.

En fût. Pinte dégustée directement à la brasserie. Arôme: Légère odeur de céréales et d’houblons. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée. Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Léger goût de céréales, de caramel et d’houblons. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement minérale. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Arrière goût légèrement houblonné. (Rating #3844)

My Bottom Line :
Pillowy toasted and caramelized cereals are balanced out by herbal hops and their bitterness in this amenable Dunkel.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the misty deep amber.
-That plush mouthfeel is lovely, just like their Lagerbier’s.
-The frothy carbonation is perfectly levelled with the supple residual sugars.
-Apricot jam-like fruitiness is also found within.

Light unclear medium golden amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, caramel, dusty, moderate hoppy, grass. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, caramel, malty, hoppy, straw. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft. [20110722]

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark orange with a small white and lacing head. Aroma is sweet malty, cornish and slight butterish. Sweet and dark malty, bitter and slight roasted breadish. Ends dry and mild bitter.

Wässrig herber, kaum hopfiger Antrunk mit sehr starker Trockenheit. Langweilig, unspektakulär. Nicht mehr als trinkbar. 11/8/8/8//8

Draft at Greifenklau. Nice clear light brown body. Hazy creamy head. Yeasty aroma, malt, caramel and dried parmesan cheese. Bitter finish.

Draught @ Greifenklau. Ceramic. Large foam. Crips and clean. Floral and grassy hoppy. A bit of wood and buiscuit. Very tasty and quaffable

Draught at Greifenklau. Color orange with medium head. Aroma malt, caramel. Taste grain, caramel, brown sugar.

Draught at Greifenklau: Amber color. Light malty, light caramelic nose. Flavor is maltym few sweetm some caramel notes. Hops in the end and a light hoppy, bitter finish. Ok but not outstanding.

draft at greifenklau in bamberg. dark caramel brown body, faint haze. medium to full body, chewy nougat malt and nut oils engulf the mouth. peanuts, some chalk, some dry/stale bread crust... a little too ashy at times, and lacks depth. decent.
