austone (242), Pori, Finland May 10, 2008 (Bottle bbe 04/2006) Dark reddish brown, small off-white head. Nose is sweet syrupy malts, spices and strong sweet pear. Flavor is sweet malts, spices and pear. Rye puddingy finish with some warming alcohol, hops and liquorice. It’s got something going on, but not for me. That sweet pear gives me goosebumps. Mes_and_Sim (3903), London, Greater London, England Dec 26, 2007 A Sim rate (bottle at Kerstbierfestival, Essen): So sweet: honey, syrup, Christmas pudding. So rich. It’s the brandy baked inside rather than the actual cake. Glorious lacing. Lasting head. Rich plum flavour. Christmas pudding. Brandy and sweet honey. yespr (5394), Copenhagen O, Denmark Dec 25, 2007 75 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours hazy copper orange/brown with a lacing off-white head. Raisin fruity aroma, sweet and somewhat malty. Flavour is dry malty with a slight spice note and some fruity tones without being sweet. Ends with a slight bitter-spiced note, mild caramel and slight hoppy soapy finish . Nice and not overly done X-mas brew, but clearly lacks some body to be great. thebeertourist (1671), Oslo, Norway Dec 18, 2007 From bottle at 13e Kerstbierfestival, Essen. Orangey amber, hardly any head. Cinnamon aroma. Sweet malts, some licorice, dry spices. Sweet, but good.
