Appearance: Murky brown with a small off white head. Aroma: Smells like a Belgian beer! caramel, bread, a little nutty and a good lot of yeast, some vanilla too. Flavour: Toasty as hell, quite sweet with a tiny amount of cooking chocolate and malt. The alcohol is well hidden. Beershine (2870), Vancouver for now, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2010 Mahogany brown with stable tan head. Aroma has cherries and smells rich. The palate is super soft and easy. Very fruity and interesting flavors, again with cherry and sweet grape impacted as Smucker’s. Josh said it, it’s a jammy beer. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 1, 2010 Cloudy dark brown. Thin head. Grapey, jammy aroma - weird, maybe kriekish. Again, this tastes like grape jelly. Maybe some raspberry jam. Not bad, but strange to see such an accent on the fruit to the detriment of balance. BartC (408), Lichtaart, Belgium

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Bottle. Poured dark amber with a temporary white head. Light fruity, near cola, aroma. Medium body with firm carbonation. Flavor is spicey, but a touch medicinal. Caramel with fresh fruit, but also cooked fruit. There’s a lot going on in this. Finishes balanced, not too sweet, not too bitter. Interesting beer. BoBoChamp (1489), Gent, Belgium

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 24, 2008 In short: A problematic sweet aggressive Belgian dark ale.
How: Bottle 330ml, probably 1+ year old
The look: A short lived beige head over cloudy redish-brown body with a lot a medium size particles
In long: Aggressive fruitiness and some alcohol on the nose, like a bakery alcoholised dessert. Grainy malts, crusty bread, fruits concentrate, ripe fruits. Carbonation is way too aggressive. The beer is very sweet but without only a little caramel flavour. The strong sweetness was like what you get from a baked fruit dessert. Tasty but more annoying than anything. Dry toasted bread and dry tree leaves in the finish with a lot of cardboard. Many many problems. Thankfully it’s not brewed in California cause it’s very rare and I’d hate to see it rated over 4.
