50 cl bottle at Krah krah, Vienna. A mighty fine hefe. Silky feeling from the wheat malt, a little yeast, a lemony zing as the finish. Great with food - I had a goulash!

Pint bottle. Poured a hazy straw gold with an impressive fluffy, white head which dissoved completely before I was halfway through. Bummer, as it was kind of pretty. Big aromas of dough and bananas, pine sap, and some clove and nutmeg as the glass warmed. More banana in the taste, some maltiness, and distant pepper in the finish. Tastes nice and fresh, but gets kind of boring. A lot of carbonation, watery palate.

Smells is faint, but okay. Nice cloudy yellow. Certainly one of the better wheat beers I’ve had; must be because it’s the German style. Fruity but drinkable.

16.9oz bottle.Pours a hazy straw with a tiny head. Aroma of bananas, lemons, and a sour off-smell--not from the lemons. Bananas and oranges in the taste. OK beer, nothing spectacular. The bottle claims Whitebeer, but I beg to differ.

Not nearly as good as my Maisels. Citrus aroma but something is off. Light gold and a quickly fading head. No sediment. It is like a cross between a real hefeweizen and a bad American wheat. A little thin, but ok.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2006 In the 0.5L bottle from Pioneer Co-Op in Iowa City. Pale cloudy white-yellow with plenty of unfiltered yeast and a white head that dies rather quick. Aroma of lemons, bananas, and tapioca pudding. Delicious flavor of coriander, and banana sweetness. Pepper on the tip of my tongue. Estery medicinal finish with lingering lemon flavor. Great bier! UPDATE 4/11/6: In the 0.5 L bottle at the Huber Haus Weissbier tasting. This was definitely skunked in the bottle and tasted like it.

Lightly hazy gold. No head (wtf? it’s a wheat beer) Moderate phenolic aroma, with some serious overripe banana character, I’m talking brown skins, here. Medium bodied, mercifully less overripe banana character in the flavor. Also a hint of nutmeg. A little sweet, nothing exciting.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2006 Botlle courtesy of key_kevin. Light hazy yellow body. This is fairly light colored for a hefe. The aroma had over ripe bananas with some oranges. This is not a pleasure to smell. The aroma has some oranges with banana peels. There is also some bad bread. No noticeable quality problems, just a bland wheat beer. I tried this again with a bottle I purchased. Same rating.

(12.29.05) One pint, 0.9 fl oz brown bottle purchased from DiCarlo’s, Mundelein, IL. 5.1% ABV. Hazy straw colored weisse beer having a medium white head with good lacing. No discernable carbonation. Sour clove aroma. Light-to-medium bodied that starts with light malt sweetness and spicy clove, caramel and smoke flavors. Finishes with light malt aftertaste. A very good refreshing clean tasting brew.

Poured with a lovely great foamy rocky textured head and a little lace. Hazy burnished golden color. Nice spicy banana clove and bit of nutty/bitter tree bark (from yeastoids) aroma. Notice a softness to the flavor along with the banana clove stereotypical profile taste. A little sweeter than other hefes. Interesting and a nice change of pace. Got this as a sample of a beer that’s soon to be stocked at Bodega downtown La Crosse.
