A night of eating specialty wurst and cabbage at the "Wurst Kitchen" required I try something of the german hefeweizen style. Palate was pretty much shot by the many courses, so, for something that was as delicate, it was tough to keep up and stand out.

Pours cloudy yellow/gold with a tall, thick, white head. Slightly skunky, lemon malt aroma....grains. Taste is wheaty, banana, sweet orange. A little spice. Slightly over-sweet...not enough crispness. Ok, but a bit plain.

March 6, 2013 - bottle from Randalls. Cloudy yellow pour with nice head that faded quickly. Aroma was banana, spice / clove and wheat. Taste was consistent with aroma, but spice was dominant. Some carbonation and light to medium bodied.

500ml bottle in a weizen glass. Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma of light malts, some wheat, light fruits, and light hops. Flavor the same, with a nice smooth blend of everything. Average to light texture. Not a bad beer for the style.

A - Pours a super cloudy milky orange color. It reminds my of dark grapefruit juice. S - Sweet banana bread, clove, lemon T - Sweet banana off the top followed by sour bubblegum, spicy wheat, then a tangy citrus finished it off. M - Watery at first but quickly turns to a sort of velvety feel. D - Pretty solid beer. I could drink a couple of these on a hot day or any day. Probably too sweet for more than a few. Serving type: bottle
