2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ernest (5609) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a light note of lemon juice.
Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation.
One of the most characterless beers I’ve had in Germany thus far. Well before the BB date, but extremely thin-bodied and watery with very little aroma or flavor. Not worty like Jeff’s sample but just...well...nothing much at all.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 FatPhil (7496) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 4, 2013
500ml bottle (HBF2013, Saturday) - not sure if this is the right beer, my notes say Zoikelbier de Greiss Keller
Lovely soft grainy aroma. Dry crisp body, loads of light grains. Very well attenuated. Gentle hops in the finish, a touch woody. Nice, full of life and uplifting.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rozsoma (329) - HUNGARY - NOV 12, 2012
On tap, Zly Casy, Prague, 2012. 11. 01. Béla szerint selymes, lágy, szerintem kicsit karcos.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheCametron (1290) - CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 4, 2012
Keg at Zly Casy. Hazy Golden with a white head. Lots of bitterness and a bit of sherbet flavour made this an interesting beer which I really enjoyed.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 RexTalionis (1425) - FINLAND - OCT 6, 2012
Draught at Gallow’s Bird, Espoo. Poured pale copper in color with a very thin bubbly white head. Sweet butterscotch and velvet candy in aroma. Flavour is mostly butterscotch, some more sweet brown sugar and hints of very light hoppyness. Smooth and feels like velvet while drinking. Very enjoyable. Light hoppy finish. Nice one.
