downender (1300), Bristol, England Nov 17, 2007 Bottle at Cafe Abseits, Bamberg 5/11/07. Delicate gold colour with a fine, frothy head. Light summer fruit aroma, with floral hops and some biscuity malt. Flavour was finely balanced between fruity malt, grassy/floral hops and a dry, peppery finish. This excellent beer also had a great spritzy mouthfeel. voota (744), Melbourne, Australia Jul 30, 2007 At the brewpub, served in a mug but as far as I could see it was cloudy golden with a white head. Sweet, heavily hopped aroma gives lots of pine, citrus, fruit and slightly sweet malt. Bitter flavours, also hop dominated in a good way... balanced but assertive is another way to put it. Hoppy, lingering finish. It hurts to rate this as I sit back in Australia... how I miss Franconia. duff (5400), Sydney, Australia, England May 16, 2007 Bottle@Café Abseits, Bamberg. Really good kellerbier. Crisp and grassy, with some dried apricot fruityness and lightly bready malt notes. Finish is dry and bitter. This was really rather good! motelpogo (4082), Plzen, Czech Republic Oct 17, 2006 Updated: Jul 19, 2007on tap at cafe abseits in bamberg watching argentina hammer serbia. nice golden colour with a steady head. quite a tropical aroma - pineapple and menthol. some strawberry jam sweetness and a prickly minty finish. classy stuff Dalle (1146), Viborg, Denmark Sep 11, 2006 Draught, Cafe Abseits, Bamberg. Golden color with fine head. Deliscious flowery, fruity and grassy/herbal aroma - complex. Fruity sweet and well rounded flavor, finishes dry. This was one of the 3 best beers I had during my stay in Bamberg. The others were Keesman Herren pils and Schlenkerla Rauchbier - served from the lagering tanks by Matthias Trum in the brewery cellar.
