Cask (gravity) @ The 17th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2011, Reading, Berkshire England.

Clear medium yellow orange colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, pale malt, fruity, passion fruit, light to moderate hoppy, vomit. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110428]

Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival on 28 April 2011. Bright gold colour. Thin white head. Good condition. Distinct honey presence on the nose. There’s a slight whiff of sulphur too. Quite fresh on the palate with some more honey and a light but insistent citric hop presence. Clean mouthfeel. I’m not always too enthusiastic about honey beers but this was pretty enjoyable. The relatively high ABV seemed to give it a bit more oomph and body than the norm for these beers, which can be a bit too delicate to carry the honey flavour without becoming one-dimensional.
