Cask, Leicester Fest 09. Dark brown with a small head. Aromas are weetabix and grain malts with bready yeast. Some chocolate with light berries, lactose and yeast. Flavours are sweet weetabix and caramel with light roast malts. Some blackberry. Smooth on the finish. OK.

Cask@Leicester Beer Festival, 2009. Black beer with a brown tinge. The aroma is weakly roasted and malty, and the flavour is plainly roasted. Overall a plain beer.

Fresh at The Griffin. Dark ruby beer drenched in lace and wafting with earthy blackcurrant fruit and roasted malt. Berry fruit, chocolate and mushy biscuit. Good balance of brambly hop and dark malts. Alive, attractively homemade and good enough to order another, even with 10 real ales on handpull. Very promising...
