3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap, poured into a sample glass. The aroma is mostly cooked caramel, cherry, dark chocolate, and a light citrus. It pours a deep, rich copper red - amber color. The slightly off-white head reduces to a medium ring with a thin, cloudy island. It leaves an abundant, web lace. The taste is a nicely balanced, medium bitter and sweet. There’s lots of soft, fuzzy carbonation. The oily texture has a full / medium-full malt body. It finishes with a caramel, burnt toast, light citrus and dark chocolate combination, which eventually turns to primarily dark chocolate and cherry. These two flavors linger in the aftertaste with bread crust characteristics.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. Pour is fairly dark... more of a reddish brown than anything else. Aromas are slightly nutty with some apple notes and a little bit of toffee. Flavor is very nice. Kind of a sweet and jammy fruit presence holds things together with a little bit of autumn leaves type stuff going on. Good beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can: Burnt leather color with some vibrant, lighter orange hues near the bottom; moderately foamy, ecru cap fades quickly to a collar. Aroma is dominated with Caramalt; toffee & caramel candy, mild residual, crystal-like sugar sweetness, & just a touch of some vague, dark fruitiness in the back-end, I’m leaning towards raisin or prune. Taste follows closely; caramel malt bomb, borderline sticky toffee notes with a burnt toast flavor in the periphery. Very light brown sugar notes on the back of the tongue with a finish of heavily toasted, nutty & earthy tones that still have a deep undercurrent of malt sugars. I’d classify this as more of a brown than a red, at least based on aroma & flavor alone. For what it is, it’s pretty solid.
