Can. Pour is fairly dark... more of a reddish brown than anything else. Aromas are slightly nutty with some apple notes and a little bit of toffee. Flavor is very nice. Kind of a sweet and jammy fruit presence holds things together with a little bit of autumn leaves type stuff going on. Good beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours burnt red in appearance with a thin, mottled, whitish head and a good bit of lacing. Nose is roasted grain. Taste is lightly bitter. Faint grassy note and a bit of a boozy cherry hint on the aftertaste. Medium body. Vigorous carbonation. Very tasty!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can: Burnt leather color with some vibrant, lighter orange hues near the bottom; moderately foamy, ecru cap fades quickly to a collar. Aroma is dominated with Caramalt; toffee & caramel candy, mild residual, crystal-like sugar sweetness, & just a touch of some vague, dark fruitiness in the back-end, Iím leaning towards raisin or prune. Taste follows closely; caramel malt bomb, borderline sticky toffee notes with a burnt toast flavor in the periphery. Very light brown sugar notes on the back of the tongue with a finish of heavily toasted, nutty & earthy tones that still have a deep undercurrent of malt sugars. Iíd classify this as more of a brown than a red, at least based on aroma & flavor alone. For what it is, itís pretty solid.

16oz can. Pretty sure I got this from Big Red in Indianapolis. Either that or from a trade with umich03jm. No date on the can, but there is a red special-price sticker on the can, so thatís not a good sign.. Mostly clear dark red color. Thin khaki head. Leaves decent thicker lace. Medium-plus body. Lighter kind of soft carbonation, with a sort of abrupt feel to it. Lightly slick finish. Caramel malts and earthiness up front. Red tropical fruitiness. Moderate sweet taste, light spicy bitter. OK red ale. Unfortunately it tastes like itís been sitting around for a while. Probably much better fresh. Tastes like itís intended to be hoppy, and the age doesnít do it favors at this point. Consider dating your cans maybe? It was a struggle to finish this one. Pairing it with food helped it go down a bit, but it didnít do any favors for the sandwich I was eating.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can given to me by our neighbors. The beer pours to a deep burnt orange body with a nice white head. Radiant color. The flavor is really malty. Caramel and bread with a robust grain. Subtle hop. The aroma is a nice caramel and bready malt. A very nice velvety texture and just enough dryness to finish clea. Medium body but very crisp. This amber is astonishingly good.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint can. Pours a deep ruby, damn near black, with a thick khaki head that settles to a ring and leaves some soapy lace. Nose involves plums, apricot, very fruity and wine-like. Fairly sweet, a bit tart, somewhat bitter. Medium bodied, active, tingly, a bit grainy, with a lingering fruity hop bitter finish. Interesting brew, different, but very drinkable and tasty.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
473 ml can: Aroma has got a nutty malt characteristic with some grassy hop notes as well. Appearance is a deep dark reddish hue with a medium off white head that diminishes slowly. Taste has got a twangy hop note with a nice malt front then melding into a lighter malt note. Nutty, grassy, chocolate. The hop note is not enjoyable for my taste. Palate is medium to high carbonation with a light sticky malt aftertaste. Overall, Not my favorite from them at all. Cheers!
