3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MagooinPA (100) - Warminster, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 19, 2008
Bottle poured into proper glass. Nice fluffy white head and crystal clear. Laces the whole way too. Nice yellow/straw color. This beer had a nice nose of spicy hop nose to it. Mouth feel was somewhat thin though. Not every tripel can be Chimay though. Malt was noticeable and and all in all, a nice session beer. You can’t say that about most tripels since they tend to knock you on your butt.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 milljam (682) - Norman, Oklahoma, USA - JAN 18, 2008
Interesting beer....slight fruit/citrus on the nose, followed by the same in the palate, but also with some subtle hops. Finish is crisp and clean. A bit weak to be a Trippel, but decent none the less.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 shadey (1618) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 16, 2008
Small bottle picked up at BOTW and consumed right away. Pour is crystal clear pale orange. Head consists of a thin sparse layer of white with spotty clusters of more dense white froth. Aroma is slightly sweet and fruity. If I pick up any hops, they are light, and a touch peppery. The flavor is light, well balanced sweetness and a faint cleansing hops. A light and refreshing Belgian. Tasty.

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Very fine, creamy foam. The beer is strong but very drinkable, a little bit sweet. Well done!

Poured a slightly hazy dark yellow. Fruity aroma. Taste was pretty standard for an abbey ale. More sweet and fruity than expected, however. Overall not bad.
2.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 LordCrabapple (98) - Merseyside, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2008
Not as bad as one might expect it to be. Rather better than the dubbel, but not a favourite of the noble Crabapple family.

The Grimbergen is an average Abbey Blonde. The cloud-like frothy head is very unique. The beer pours with a nice golden hue and the flavors are very light, slightly fruity, and malty.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Whelk (123) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 1, 2008
Bottle. Pours a slighly hazy gold with a thick white head. Aroma is candi sugar, very light hops, and fruity yeast. Grainy malt and fruity yeast flavors dominate with a little yeast funk. Very spritzy carbonation.
