bottle: poured with medium pearly foam head, holding a low foam after drinking nearly half the glass. Slight aroma of grapefruit...maybe. Light acid palate with heavy yeastiness. I guessI’ve never had a blonde made in the abbey style, It’s a litte more robust, but dry. I like it for the summer evenings. Good purchase.

Bottle 0,33l. Clear golden with a creamy lasting head leaving patterns on the glass. A soft, sweet aroma. Flavour of fruit and spices. A "heavy" sweet aftertaste.

Tried this several times over the course of a week in Belgium. Unfortunately, the only thing my notes say are "mediocre blonde". Perhaps a little to sweet, but hey, there are so many beers out there that are worse than this.

Perfect rating environment last Friday eve. Nice and quiet, and with the July edition of "Beer" and "What’s Brewing" I decided to give some of the beers in the Grimbergen portfolio a try. Apart from the Blonde, the Triple and the Dubbel were available. All from Vinmonopolet in Norway.
330ml bottle. Wheat and coriander aroma. Pale golden. Frothy white head - most of it disappearing. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet banana flavour with a yeasty touch. Sweet fruity finish - yes, in fact too much sweetness (28.07.2006).

Moderate malty artoma with caramel notes; moderate hops aroma; additional notes of grape and honey. Dark golden colour with an average, creamy white head, mostly lasting and with good lacing. Flavour is heavy sweet and slightly bitter at the beginning, then the sweet character diminishes leaving more space to a moderate bitter and a light acidic taste in the finish and in the more-than-average lasting aftertaste. Body is medium with oily texture; lively carbonation; light astringent feeling in the finish. Pleasant and satisfactory beer. Aroma and flavour are fruity and complex; well balanced.

I very much enjoyed this blonde. Pleasantly balanced. Not the best, but I’d drink one of these anytime.

Bottled. Pours a clear blonde colour with a light dusting of tan coloured head. The aroma is yeasty and slightly lemony. The taste is over sweet and a little cloying. A touch creamy and dry yeasty. Very plain.
